Promoting Access to Rehabilitation Products
APDK uses a holistic approach to disability guided by the Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) matrix which is a framework established to offer uniformity in CBR programs. These services are offered through a 3-tier model of services ranging from Institutionalised Clinic services to the Comprehensive Community initiatives and Mobile Outreach programs.
APDK collaborates with government’s Ministry of Health and developmental partners in strengthening and assuring access to habilitation and rehabilitation services for persons with diability. Habilitation and rehabilitation are crucial components of the rights of individuals with disabilities as stated the UNCRPD Article 26. In our habilitation services, we endeavor to assist children and adults with disabilities acquire, develop skills and functions that were not previously developed. While rehabilitation focuses on recovering lost or impaired abilities and functions. Our rehabilitation services are tailor-made for each person's needs and objectives, and in a way that upholds their dignity and autonomy
