Our Occupational therapy clinic provides rehabilitation and habilitation services that assist individuals with disabilities achieve their full potential and actively participate in society, aligning with the objectives of Article 26 of the UNCRPD. Our clinics upholds the UNCRPD’s Article 20 values by facilitating people’s increased mobility, which allows them to engage more completely in society.

This is achieved through assisting individuals with disability in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in daily activities, employment, education, and leisure. This entails removing obstacles to mobility and offering instruction in the use of assistive technology and mobility aids.

We offer services to children with a range of difficulties, such as behavioral or emotional problems, physical disabilities, delays in their development, and difficulties with sensory processing.

Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Training:

This includes tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, which are essential for independent living.

Range of Motion (ROM) Exercises:

These exercises help improve joint flexibility and mobility.

Strength Training:

OT may include exercises to improve muscle strength, which can help with activities like lifting and carrying objects

Coordination and Balance Activities:

These activities help improve coordination and balance, which are important for activities like walking and reaching.

Cognitive Skills Training:

OT may include activities to improve memory, attention, problem-solving, and other cognitive skills

Sensory Integration Therapy:

This therapy helps individuals process and respond to sensory information more effectively.

Adaptive Equipment Training:

OT may involve training on how to use adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, or dressing aids to improve independence

Workplace/house or School Modifications:

OT may include recommendations for modifications to the environment to make it more accessible and conducive to participation in daily activities.

Our role in occupation therapy is to;

  • Evaluate and train the clients’ in self- care activities such as dressing, eating, and personal hygiene to maximize independence
  • Aid in maintain and improving joint range of motion, coordination, muscle strength and endurance through use of purposeful activities. 
  • Explore vocational training in home management skills, using simpler methods, or aids to minimize fatigue and conserve energy
  • Evaluate and train client to compensate for sensory and perceptual deficits taking personal social and cultural testes in consideration  
  • Evaluate the home and suggest modifications to provide a barrier free environment 
  • Uses orthoses and adaptive equipment when necessary 
  • Educate the patient’s family by demonstrating techniques designed to maintain independence
  • Encourage peer support among parents, guardians and persons with disabilities
  • Embrace the rights based approach to inclusive education, rehabilitation, socially, economically and politically
  • Sensitize and create awareness to communities on early intervention and preventive measures
