The Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK)is a national leader in disability inclusion, rehabilitation, and advocacy. For over 60 years, we’ve worked alongside persons with disabilities, caregivers, and communities to promote dignity, independence, and equal opportunity. Our work is grounded in rights, not charity — and driven by the belief that every person deserves access, respect, and voice.
APDK Objectives
- To Create awareness on causes, prevention and management of various disabilities with the aim of reducing prevalence and overcome prejudices and traditional believes towards Persons with Disabilities.
- To promote quality rehabilitation services through medical/social rehabilitation and economic empowerment.
- To develop and provide low cost assistive/supportive appliances through appropriate technology to meet the needs of Persons with Disabilities especially in the rural community.
- To network with the Government and other partners to effectively co-ordinate activities targeting Persons with Disabilities to minimise duplication of services.
- To promote formation of grassroot groups of Persons with disabilities to increase their self-confidence to achieve full participation in their communities and attain equal rights.

As part of appreciating the Devolved system of Government and the Constitution of Kenya 2010, APDK has structured itself into Regional hubs that include;
North Rift Regional Hub
Nakuru and Eldoret Branches
Western Regional Hub
Kisumu, Busia, Siaya and Kisii Branches
Eastern Regional Hub
Embu and the larger North Eastern regional which is arid and Semi-Arid regions branches
Nairobi Regional Hub
Nairobi and its environs and Machakos Branches
Coastal Regional Hub
Coastal region branches
