Digital Accessibility Project (DAP) focus on Digital accessibility of government services for persons with disabilities in Kenya. ICT has become indispensable tool for institutions, civil society and
individuals to enable them have increased and free flow of information.

This was digital skills training project financed by Foreign Commonwealth & Development office (FCDO) through the UK Government’s Digital Access Program (DAP) and was conducted by Information and communication Technology Authority (ICTA) with the technical assistance from the Association for Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK) in partnership with Inspire Africa Initiatives International. The project focused both on the demand and the supply sides of digital government services.

Objective
- To improve secure access to Digital Government Services Capacity for persons with disabilities
- capacity building and handholding of government ICT officers, web and content developers on the designing of digital services that are responsive to the needs of the PWDs
E-learning Platform

Activity
On the demand side, the focus was on capacity building for the persons with disabilities to enable them to securely access digital government services through
- digital literacy training, awareness
- creation of existing digital government services,
- digital platforms for accessing the government services, existing legal and policy framework on digital accessibility for Persons with disabilities,
- handholding, and mentorship on the use of digital and accessing digital services.
