ACCESSIBILITY AUDIT REPORT – June 2024
This report outlines the findings of a road accessibility audit conducted the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), Flone Initiative, The Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK) and KENHA Corridor A, along the Waiyaki way from the ABC Place to the APDK Compound. It compares these findings to Universal access standards defined in the street design manual for urban areas in Kenya. The Report was presented to KEHNA Corridor “A” in November 2024.
The report is intended as a document that identifies shortcomings and barriers to accessibility and Inclusion for persons with disabilities, provides guidance on current good practices, and can be used to Assist in preparing an action plan to improve the accessibility of the existing infrastructure to promote Accessibility and safety for the road users particularly persons with disabilities.
